Our ridge beam has cracked all the way thru on one section. Should I drill thru and bolt it to bring it back together?

These checks (cracks) happen on beams all of the time. Normally it isn’t an issue, but his sounds like it might be. You could have a structural engineer look at it to say for sure. Most lumber yards have one on staff. If you can get a couple of bolts through it and still look good I would say go for it. Hard to say for sure without seeing it.
