We own a 150+ year-old log cabin. I want to retire there soon. Family is concerned with insulation, and are encouraging us to drywall the interior. I DON’T WANT TO DO THAT. I love the logs. Can this cabin be heat efficient with proper insulation in the roof and air-tight windows/doors?

Absolutely! Why take away the charm of a log home with dry wall. You might as well put siding on the exterior first so that you can still enjoy the interior. Most log homes are very energy efficient if sealed properly. You want to make sure the exterior is chinked or caulked with the latest latex materiel for best results.
