We are in the process of buying a home with extensive wood rot. The owner of the house is fixing the problem but we are concern that it might not get fixed right. Should the house be corn blasted before replacement logs are put in? What should we be looking for to know that the house was repaired correctly?

It is a very good chance that the log rot problem came from the previous owner power washing the logs and then applying stain before it dried out properly. You do not need to have it corn blasted before the log replacement, but sometimes logs that look OK are found to be rotted when it is blasted.
