Just getting ready to put 1/4 round white fir log siding on a cabin. The siding has been dried. I am tying to find the best stain and sealer on the market for longevity. I live near Yosemite and the winters can be snowy and cold. Summer can get up to 90 degrees. The cabin does not get much sun. I have looked at the Permachink Ultra 7 with the Lifeline Advance sealer. What is your thoughts on this product? Would you recommend other products over the Permachink? If so, which ones? Thanks soo much!
I would highly recommend the Perma Chink brand. The Ultra 7 says that it is a one coat stain, but you may need to put a light second coat on to avoid lap marks. As with any log home stain you must keep up with the maintenance and re-apply the Advanced Topcoat every 3 +/- years. Just keep an eye on it and if starts to loose its luster it is time for more Topcoat.
