I have a log home I applied Sikkens cetol and cetol 23 sealer to. I applied several coats of the sealer especially on the east and west facing sides. It has held up well as it is 10 years old and the house sees wind, ice, snow, hail you name it. I am going to reapply a coat of sealer this spring. Mainly on the west and a little on the east sides down low where the sun is at its worst I have some chipping of the sealer/stain at the log checks.
