We just had our 12 year pine log home re-stained. The painter used sikkens- natural finish. Our home is now much darker than the original color we were looking for. The painter did power wash and bleach for the prep work, and now he is telling us there is nothing that he can do. What options do I have?

He’s right. The original stain probably darkened and bleaching will not do anything, and it should never be used for cleaning a log home in large amounts. Sikkens should have Cetol Maintenance applied every 4 +/- years to avoid the darkening. You will probably have to strip it to get lighter again.
