We recently purchased a Northeastern log home that is five years old. The interior either is bare or has a very, very light coat of something (stain or poly?) on it. Is it okay to leave the interior logs bare? How can I tell if they are bare or lightly coated? Can you tell me the proper procedure for finishing them if they are bare or if they had a previous finish?
