I am considering purchasing a 25 year old log home in my home state of minnesota. The home has a solid color stain that was applied about 6 years ago. I’ve done some reading about this and understand that solid color stain is not a good thing for the long term life of the logs. I have major concerns about what the stain may be doing to the logs or what damage has been done to the logs as a result of the 6 years of solid color stain.
