We’ve put an offer on a 2-story log cabin here in Waxhaw, NC contingent on satisfactory inspection. The main support beam on the ceiling of the first floor is bowed significantly. The cabin was built in 1981 so I don’t know if this is natural settling and will not bow any more. The cabin has a crawl space, perhaps the beam can be jacked up and steel rods can be bolted to hold the position. Is this a common problem, and has this been done successfully done before.
