I am looking at purchasing an existing log home. The home was built in 1980. The current owner painted the exterior of the house in 2006. The used a very thick paint. You can not see any grain in the logs. Do you feel this will lead to rot and damaged the logs? Would you strip the paint and go back to a recommended stain? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
