Our 1830s log barn in Mississippi needs sill log replacements due to termite damage. The building is 20 ft by 40 ft. with a cross beam wall, all notched and interlocked. Logs are hand-hewn and massive, and we have been unable to find a contractor with the skills to tackle the job. We have considered stabilizing the logs with metal plates lagged into the inside of the logs, and then jacking the building for sill log replacement. We need some competent advice and an experienced log barn contractor
