After cob blasting our log home (original stain-Sascho High Sierra 10 years ago) I get very different opinions as what to reapply: Sikkens Cetol SRD vs Weaterguard vs Sascho High Sierra. We are located near Snoqualamie Pass, WA (65 miles east of Seattle.
Any thoughts about the Sikkens products are greatly appreciated.
Thank you-Jerry
If you use Sikkens, which I would not recommend, use the Log & Siding, not the SRD. I’m going to throw another ball into the court and tell you to use Life Line Ultra 2 from Perma Chink. The trouble with the Sikkens is that every time you do a maintenance coat the house keeps getting darker and darker. With the Life Line there is a clear coat that is applied over the stain. Perma Chink recommends that the house get a light wash every 3 years and reapply the clear. You maintain the true color this way. Sometimes on the south or west side you may have to spray just a light coat of stain again to keep the color good. Call Timeless Wood Care Products at 800-564-2987 for more help. They sell all of the products that you are asking about.
