We own a pine log home and have treated it several times with a stain sealer. We are tired of having to go through this process every 3 years. We are thinking of painting the logs using a good quality ext. paint and primer. Would the paint last longer? Should we even paint the logs

DO NOT paint the logs. If you want a longer lasting, less maintenance product use a solid color stain like Sherwin Williams Woodscapes. The chemical make up of paint will not allow the logs to ”breathe”, stain will, but the solid color still looks like paint and you should get 7-10 years between coats.
