Our builder has applied 2 coats of Superdeck transparent stain to all of the exterior and interior douglas fir timbers and trims of our home. The result colour varies from blotchy dark brown to reddish. How can we even out the colour? Is it harmful to use this stain inside?

It may help to brush more stain in light areas to feather out the color. This stain is very penetrating and could be just they way it is. You will need to keep the exterior rinsed off a couple of time a year because this stain likes to turn black over time from pollen and dirt sticking to it..
