We live in Alberta in the mountains, and we have a cedar log home and real wood floors. What should the humidity be kept at. We are finding that we are having water leak down the walls inside. Are humidity is being kept at about 40 – 45. We also have our fireplace going almost 24-7 unless real warm outside. We also get alot of chinnoks in this area. Is the humidity to hight in our home.
Not sure if the leaking is being caused from leaking logs or condensation. If condensation then reduce the humidity a little. It could be you are getting an air leak around some logs and causing it. I don’t know what a ”Chinnok” is. Sounds like it may be a weather occurrence which goes back to the wind leaking around the logs. May need a good going over or complete chink job.
