I have purchased 8×8 solid cedar columns to support my porch roof. Does cedar carry a load bearing rating? Is it legal in Ontario to use these columns to support my roof or do they need to be 12”? I have 5 posts evenly distributed over 38 feet of roofline. Beam is 3 ply 2×8
