We use Minwax stain for blending interior’s. The variation in color is from dust kitchen vapors and UV damage coming in the windows.

You could run fir stripping and file in with high R value foam board then nail or screw siding to strips. The ceiling I would recommend having a roofer look at for venting questions.

We recommend a light rinse of the dirt and pollen off from the logs each year. The finish should be clear coated or a fresh coat of stain every 3-5 years. Plan on $1.50 per sq ft of living space/per year for professional maintenance.

I would recommend having a roofer look at it. You may be able to stop leak and just let log siding dry out. If they are water stained you may be able to sand out. Depends on how long the leak as been going on.
