If you want to stain it you will need to blast it or sand first. You then need to apply a good borate treatment like Shell-Guard to stop the bug situation. Even if you decide not to stain it, get the borate on it.

Find a log home company that makes homes similar to your type of construction and get a price to build it over again.

I would recommend having a structural engineer look at it. Most steel and lumber yards have one on staff.
