Strip the stain, apply a heavy coat of Shell Guard borate and let turn to natural gray.
Go with the Transformation’s. Skip the Log End Sealer. Just grind the ends to a smooth finish and apply extra coat of stain.
It is typical for the old color to stay in the hard grain. You can sand first before applying new stain and it will help some, but probably not completely.
Sounds like you maybe didn’t allow the wood to dry before applying Spar. You may have to sand off and start over. Maybe try using some Wood ReNew. 800-5642987 to purchase.
