It can be reversed by removing and cleaning logs, but normally they will cover logs with siding to hide rot and not have the maintenance.

Tung oil is going to cause issues. Go with a good quality latex stain for log homes.

you need 40 degrees. The black may or may not come off. TSP should work fine. Just don’t over do it when mixing. one cup to 5 gallons is plenty

Try Osborne brushing it and then apply finish. If the brushing doesn’t work you will have to sand.
