Try either Log Wash or S-100 from Perma Chink. Call 800-564-2987 to have it shipped.

do not use poly ever on a log home. For the interior use an acrylic clear, for the exterior use a good latex stain and clear coat. Perma chink products are the best in my opinion.

Use the Conceal.
Sand blasting can remove the paint from your drip edge, etch glass, cut wires and be dangerous to breathe. Corn cob is none of the above.
Did you clean the logs before staining? It could be dark for severel resaons. Not a big fan of Sikkens.
