I am getting ready to build a new log home that I have dreamed about for over 30 years. There is not a look I love more. If you do it right the first time and keep up on the maintenance, you can have a ”friendly” log home for many years. Most log home stains require some sort of attention (clear coat application) every 2-4 years. You should budget about $1 per Sq. Ft./ per year for maintenance.
