I am a soldier serving in Iraq. My wife has recently bought a log home in Kentucky. I have seen it for two weeks that I was home. She says the walls were leaking as a result of Hurricane Katrina. She says that all the chinking must be replaced. The house is less than 10 years old. I am not an expert on log homes but this seems extreme. The estimate is between $6000 and $10000 dollars. After reading all the questions people have written I am not sure this sounds correct. The chinking is about 3”
