We had a log home built this past year and nothing was used between the logs to prevent drafts. If we should caulk the complete exterior, please give me details as to what all that includes. And what is the difference between chink and caulk. Thanks for your help.

You should caulk/chink the exterior complete. Caulk is used on gaps 3/4” or less and chink on anything wider. You will need to put a closed cell foam in any larger spaces and then caulk or chink on top. Grip Strip is the best. Do not use the rod shape material. It can cause cracks in the chink over time.
