have just purchased a log cabin 1732 sq. ft., one level. this cabin has stack logs (I quess due to the fact that although rounded on the outside top and bottom are flat). My question is there are some spaces, none exceeding 1/2 inch on the top and bottoms of some of the logs do they require chinking? What would you recommend to fill gaps, they are few and far between but nonetheless still there and we wish to live here for a long time.
