We have to tear down a log home built in 1978 (long story). Logs @8′ each. @1400 sq. ft. Chinked. Don’t know terminology to describe type of log construction – logs cut out to fit into next. Want to be able to rebuild it on another location. What is the best way to disassemble? What is the best way to deal with spikes? Any advice appreciated.

There is no good way to deal with the spikes. You should number each log in order and then re-assemble in reverse. take lots of pictures.
