In the early stages of thinking about building a log home. I want to use my own oak logs from my farm to build it from. I’m leaning toward milling them into a D shape and using the butt and pass method. Would it be too strange an idea to lay 2×4 lumber down between each log to maintain consistent spacing between logs and possibly insulate it better?
