I am currently restoring a hand built log cabin for an eagle scout project. It was built back in 1990 by 4 men as a hobby project. The cabin is made of solid pine logs and is somewhat roughly put together. The roof is rotten and we are going to replace some of the rafters and put a new roof on. I was wondering what I should use for sealant on the logs. Also some of the chinking between the logs is cracked off and I was wondering how I am supposed to fill these holes.
