I am building a small guest cabin here in northwest Florida out of long needle pine logs I cut off our property. They vary in size from 11 inches wide to 8 inches wide, and are from 9 inches to 7 inches in thickness-height. I am lapping on coarse, the butting the next coarse , then lapping the next, spiking them with 10 inch galvanished spikes. To do this I have to drill about a 3 inch hole and drive the spikes into the log below. So (1)is it okay to fill these holes with Liquid Nails caulking?
