Recently, I just got a spring cleaning job on a log cabin and the interior walls are cedar filled with oakum as caulking/chinkin. So I was wondering what would be the best way to go about cleaning the interior of the walls without ruining the oakum?? That’s when I thought of possibly using Murphy’s Oil Soap. Or would it ruin the oakum??
Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
Heather Stoness

Murph’ys wood be fine unless there is ever going to be future staining or clear coating done. It shouldn’t hurt the oakum.
