Hi, we are looking at buying a 10 yr old log home in northeastern pennsylvania that has whole northern pine logs. It does not have chinking but it is caulked. Is it possible (or worth the money) to chink the house now? Also do you know of an inspector in this area? Thank you.

It depends on how big the logs are. The guide line is if the the chink line is 3/4” or less caulk should be used, if it is any wider then chinking. Call 866-670-3020 for an estimate. I do not know of any inspectors right in your area.
