we have a 1780 log cabin which is on the historical register which needs to be partially rechecked. What materials should we use?

When you say ”rechecked” I’m taking that you mean filling the checks in the logs. Even thought I do not recommend that be done, if you must, use Grip Strip backer and Energy Seal caulk. Call 800-564-2987 to purchase.
