can you chink over caulking ? Or do you have to dig out caulk and install backer rod ?
Depends. Remember that chink should only be used in a gap of 3/4” or larger. Caulk should be used in smaller gap. If the existing caulk is real rough or loose it may need to be removed or ground back some, but not always.
