I have a old log cabin built in the forties, that has several coats of red paint on it. Will corn cob blasting work to strip this old gem back to raw wood? If so, what grit is recommended?

It will probably will get about 80% off. You will then have to grind it to remove remaining stain to get back to raw wood. Be sure to apply a borate before staining.
