I just purchased a log home. The interior chinking is not very neat. It is not at all smooth and has dripped onto some of the logs. How can I repair this. I also wanted to know why some of the logs on the interior are not as shiny. Do they need to be restained?
You can try to scrape the chink off the logs woth a putty knife, but you may have to touch up the stain. As for the shiny logs, wash them with Perma Chink Log Wash per the label and then apply a coat of Perma Chink Acrylic Gloss interior clear coat.
