I have a log home with lots of rot. I was thinking about siding over the whole cabin-there are so many choices-would you recommend t111 or smart siding over vinyl?
I do not like the idea of covering the rotten logs. They should really be taken care of before covering so that they do not cause structure integrity over time. If you do cover them I would use the new cement board siding like Hardi-Plank. You can get a generic brand at home depot which works fine.
