Do all half logs have a mill glaze on them? Is sanding the most effective way to get it off? What is the most effective stain to use?

Most 1/2 logs will have a mill glaze. A light sanding would be the best way. 50 or 60 grit. You do not want to get it too smooth or you are defeating the purpose. We like to use Perma Chink Life Line Ultra 2 Stain
