My wife and I are considering a cedar log home for purchase that was built in the mid 1800’s and has been moved and resituated on a block foundation. Consider this, and would certainly have a log home inspector closely examine it all, can you provide a perspective on the logevity of such a log home which appears in very good condition?

It more than likely is in pretty good shape since it is Cedar, and the fact that it has been move and placed on a good solid foundation is a good thing. I would hope that any bad logs were replaced during reconstruction if there were any. It should be fine for many years to come since it has been reconstructed which would help it become structurally sound again if done correctly.
