I have a 24 year old cabin and would like to replace the existing windows. Cabin is 10”, milled, round logs. The window openings are framed out with 2X10. I am planning on measuring the existing opening and have new, custom windows made to fit the 2X10 rough openings. Do you have a window type and or manufacture you would recommend. vinyle, fiberglass, aluminum clad? Current windows are wood interior and exterior with wood brick mold trim, double hungs. Find a good custom window company in your area and get references that have had the windows for a few years to see how they hold up. I would recommend a clad or metal frame.
