Just had a new roof installed. Roofer is having problems with leaks where the roof butts into the log dormers. What technique will work best?
I am not a roofer, but you should place a flashing up the sides of the dormers at least 18”. Also the logs or siding on the dormer should be held up off from the shingles a couple of incehes so they cannot wick water from the roof. I see this all of the time and the dormer sides are rotted out. It may be ugly, but gutters on the doemers are great help to stop this rot also.
