Our 1871 cabin was just cob blasted on the inside. Do you recommend a brand of stain? We want to go light.

I would recommend Perma Chinks interior products. For the lightest finish and still good protection from UV and dust sand or Osborne brush to smooth logs and then apply one coat of Perma Chink Prelude and two coats of Acrylic Gloss or Satin finish. You want the logs smoother than a cob blasted surface for wiping down for dust. The Prelude will help stop UV damage that comes thru the windows that will darken any kind of wood.
