I have some old hand hewn beams & logs. I’ve pressure washed them to get the dirt out & they look good but I want to put a clear finish on them so we don’t get slivers. I was going to sand them 1st but don’t want to take out the ax marks & that will be quite a project in itself. Can I just brush or spray the finish on. I want the real shiny look & what finish product should I use. Thank you very much!!!

You could Osborne brush them to help remove splinters, and it won’t remove the adze marks. If you are using them on the interior a clear coat will be fine, but if they are on the exterior you will need to stain them first. Call Dave at 800-564-2987 for a product that will work for you.
