We have a 1950’s pine d-log home. It was painted when we purchased it 3 years ago. Some of the logs are now rotten. It is worth it to have it sandblasted or should we just put a new coat of paint on it? Also, I’ve read that corncob blasting leaves the log surface rough. Is that correct?

You should have it removed. Corn blasting does ”fuzz” the wood a little, I call it a velvet finish. Sand blasting will not be much better. If you want a smooth finish you will have to sand the logs after blasting.
