Dear Log Doctor,

Six years ago I had the inside of my basement finished with wood log siding and I finished these logs with two coats of clear Polyurethan Valspar American Tradition Satin Oil. This was recommended by the builder.

I have hung pictures and other items of interest on these log walls. I now have spots the shape of every item I hung on these log siding walls. I have tried sanding the spots, staining, and blending into the existing finish. None of these methods has produced

Leave the items off the wall or move them to new locations. Over time the UV in the light will blend these spots back in. This is very common with new wood.
