We have some very large cracks in our logs. Most concerning is one on a waist-high post that holds our rail in the loft. The logs are 9” round. How do I repair them?

The cracking (checks) happen a lot this time of year caused from the heat in the home. Normally I preach not to fill them, but on the interior it is okay since the weather does not effect them. You can get some Grip Strip backer and Energy Seal caulk to match the color of the logs and fill checks. Call Dave at 800-564-2987 to purchase.
