I have a log home twenty years old.The roof is cedar shakes’,is there a way to clean them like you clean the logs to restain them.Also.what is the age limit on shakes.

Not being in the roofing business, I’m not sure what the proper procedure is, but I have seen them power washed. I don’t think that there is a stain applied to cedar shake normally. I’m not sure what the expected life span is, but I have seen cedar shake that were several decades old.
