I need help!! We built our dream home 2 years ago in Central Florida. We used Cypress siding & Trim for everything on the exterior. We picked our stain color, a Ben Moore Natural Redwood semi-transparent. When the painter started applying it by spray it was almost a dark chocolate color. He said he was putting it on thick so we would not have any problems, and it would not fade so quick. You could corn cob blast the dark finish off and start over. Your painter is right in that the darker the stain the longer it will last, but you need to also have a color that you can enjoy, with the large investment that you have. Call Mike at 866-670-3020 for help.
