I have an 8 year old eastern white pine log home in North Vermont. It was originally finished with Behr NWF Waterproofing wood sealer and finish and chinked with Puttylastic sealing caulk. The finish has worn off on the lower logs but is still thick on the higher ones. Also, the north east side is black mostly. How do I clean and finish it? Should I rechink? And if so should I remove all or some old chink? What products would you recommend. Are there any ”green products” that I could use?
