sample of log stain light color…will i be darker when applied to the whole house..does it mean that you should always go lighter to get the right results

Yes, it is true that the larger an area the darker a stain will appear, but a darker stain is preferred since it has more pigment in it and will hold up better to the suns UV rays. The darker a color that you can apply and still enjoy on your home, the better.
