Our logs have been sitting in a shed for 2 years. We treated them with boracare. We have built the cabin shell and it has sat in Texas for the summer. The logs that have been exposed to the sun are a golden color. Do we need to corncob them or sand before staining to get the stain to penetrate?

Before staining your log home, it’s important to Osborn brush the logs to ensure proper stain penetration. Logs exposed to the sun can develop a golden color, which may hinder stain absorption if not properly prepared. Using an Osborn brush will remove the sun-damaged layer and enhance the effectiveness of your log stain, providing better protection and a more uniform finish.
